“What does FYG mean?” – On October 2011 Eileen and Jayne, two long-time friends who share a passion for good food and wine, opened their exciting deli on Tib Street. They decided upon the name “Fig” as its a luscious, mediterranean fruit which is the kind of food they wanted to serve. Now considering the Northern Quarter location they wanted it to be a bit different, so decided to replace the it “i” with a “y” which also represented their surnames…and so “Fyg” was born, their first business venture as the Fawcett Young Girls!
